Description
The early college high school (ECHS) model is a postsecondary attainment strategy that research has proven effective in improving graduation rates, increasing access to higher education, and reducing student loan debts. As an early adopter of the ECHS model North Carolina has 133 Cooperative Innovative High Schools (CIHS) throughout the state. Isaac Bear is one of 11 CIHS schools in the state that partners with a UNC institution.
The Isaac Bear Early College High School facility will be a collaborative effort between the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, New Hanover County Schools, and UNCW’s College of Education.
