Description
Renovation design and construction for both Alderman Hall and King Hall involving envelope repairs, code deficiency corrections (ADA, egress and restroom improvements), mechanical/electrical replacements and new finishes.
Scope
Alderman Hall, a two-story, 26,108 SF building, shall include code deficiency corrections (ADA, egress and restroom improvements), minor mechanical/electrical replacements and new finishes to common areas and corridors.
King Hall, a two-story, 22,298 GF building, shall include code deficiency corrections (ADA, egress and restroom improvements), new fire alarm system, mechanical/electrical replacements, programmatic renovations of the second floor to accommodate the Honors College and new finishes in the public spaces on the first floor.
The total budget for the project is $11.4M.
Alderman Hall Move Timeline
Alderman Hall is currently closed for construction.
In May 2024, Alderman Hall occupants moved out for minor renovations during the summer. Occupants were relocated to Veterans Hall and other hybrid locations across campus or are working remotely.
This project is expected to conclude by late September 2024 with the goal of occupants returning to Alderman Hall around fall break. More details will be shared directly with stakeholders.
Occupants can still receive phone calls and emails using their normal accounts.
King Hall Move Timeline
King Hall is currently closed for construction.
In summer 2023, King Hall occupants moved out for substantial renovations to take place over several months.
This project is expected to conclude in late fall 2024 with the goal of occupants returning in a phased approach. More details will be shared directly with stakeholders.
