Architectural & Construction Services

Our mission is to ensure that all capital construction projects are professionally managed with integrity and consistency, and are brought to an effective conclusion. We manage all capital projects (those with a budget of $500,000 or more) across campus. 

Core Responsibilities

Architectural and Construction Services (ACS) oversees the planning and design for capital projects with budgets exceeding $500,000 through the design phases, inclusive of bidding and award of construction contracts.

ACS ensures that proposed architectural and engineering projects are planned and designed to seamlessly blend with and enhance the natural and built environments of the campus while meeting the programmatic needs of the users.

Film Studies Building

University Film Center Opens

The new 12,000+ square-foot University Film Center was completed in August 2021. It offers state of the art technology including a  4,000 square-foot soundstage and a 80-seat theater.

Historically Underutilized Business (HUB)

UNCW's Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Program aims to recruit, educate and interact with minority and women-owned businesses to encourage opportunities to do business with the Office of Facilities.
