Description
UNCW’s Center for Marine Science (CMS) is a 66,000 GSF research facility located at the Myrtle Grove satellite campus adjacent to the Intracoastal Waterway. The facility was originally constructed in 1999 and includes wet laboratory research space, offices, and an auditorium in two stories plus a mechanical penthouse. The MEP systems are reaching end of life cycle due to their coastal environment location. In order to maintain the integrity of CMS operations, renovation of these systems is needed at this time. The project incorporates design for replacement of the cooling, heating and laboratory exhaust systems, and fire alarm and fire suppression systems, while also correcting egress and ADA compliance.
Budget
The budget of $9,900,000.00 incorporates construction, design, and miscellaneous project costs.
