After You're Admitted

Next Steps for Transfer Students

Access your UNCW Applicant Portal to review your enrollment checklist and upcoming deadlines. Your UNCW ID, email, and login information can also be found in your UNCW Applicant Portal.

You can navigate the following steps through your UNCW Applicant Portal:

  • Review your Degree Audit. Your degree audit is your official transfer credit evaluation and will show the remaining courses needed for your degree program at UNCW.
  • Pay your $100 enrollment deposit by the deadline for your desired term. By paying the enrollment deposit you are officially accepting your UNCW offer of admission.
  • Register for transfer Orientation. You must wait 24 hours after your enrollment deposit has been paid to register.
    • Before attending your transfer orientation you are required to submit your Health and Immunization Records to the Student Health Office

In addition to the required steps above, if you are currently enrolled in courses be sure to submit your final transcript after your semester ends. Current courses will be removed from your Degree Audit if a final transcript is not received.

Set up Two Factor Authentication

Prior to logging in to your UNCW account, you will need to set up Two Factor Authentication.

UNCW MySeaport Portal

Within MySeaport, students can access their UNCW e-mail, calendar, and read about campus news and events. If you have trouble logging in or using the tools in mySeaport, contact the Technology Assistance Center (TAC). Remember to check your UNCW email often as that is how other offices will contact you.

Financial Aid/Scholarships

Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is required to be considered for federal, state, and institutional grants, federal work study, and federal loans. Visit the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid's website for more information.

Complete the University Scholarship Application by the priority deadline of March 1 (if entering in the summer or fall terms). Students must be admitted in order to access the University Scholarship Application.

Transfer students are invited, but not required, to live on campus and may submit the on-campus housing application.  Allow 3-5 business days after paying your enrollment deposit to apply for on-campus housing.

If you do not wish to live on-campus, resources for finding off-campus housing are available through Off-Campus Student Services.

Visit UNCW

Visit UNCW for an official campus tour if you have not already. If you are not able to physically visit campus, check out our virtual tour offerings.

Find your Community

Explore opportunities for getting involved through the UNCW Campus Activities & Involvement Center (CAIC). CAIC is the student gateway to entertainment, involvement, and leadership on campus and provides opportunities for students to participate actively and grow personally through a variety of experiences.

As a transfer student, you have the option to update your application for up to two consecutive semesters. Updating means that you do not need to reapply or pay the application fee again, but we will re-review your application for your future term. Additional transcripts may be requested if applicable.

Please note that enrollment deposits and orientation fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. To request an update to your application term, please use the Update Form in your UNCW Applicant Portal.

If you are not planning to attend UNCW, please withdraw your application. You may do so by completing the Withdraw form within your UNCW Applicant Portal. Completion of this form withdraws your application from the university, rescinding any offer of admission as well.
