Undergraduate Programs

Computer Science

We offer two programs of study leading to the Bachelor of Science degree in computer science which prepare you to attend graduate school or to pursue career opportunities in computer science or closely related areas.

Our department is also affiliated with undergraduate degrees in cybersecurity, digital arts, information technology and intelligent systems engineering, as well as the M.S. in information systems and computer science and the M.S. in data science.

You will develop skills in the critical and practical understanding of information technology that can lead to jobs in software development, programming, systems administration or cybersecurity. Intelligent Systems Engineering, B.S. Intelligent Systems Engineering (ISE) is the future of engineering. This program creates the “SMART” engineer through an interdisciplinary program that combines artificial intelligence, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, design and the Internet of Things. Software Engineering, B.S. The program starts with foundation-essential skills in computer programming, version control, program verification and the software lifecycle using real-world tools. Combined Dual Degree Programs

3+2 Computer Science / Computer or Electrical Engineering A 3+2 program offers the opportunity to double major – earn a degree in a science major from UNCW in approximately three years and an engineering degree at NC State in the final two years of study. UNCW students will complete the NC State engineering transfer admission requirements while completing their UNCW major and University Studies requirements. Discover
4+1 Computer Science, B.S. / Computer & Information Systems, M.S. A key feature of the program is that you can count up to 12 hours of graduate-level courses to fulfill requirements for the B.S. in computer science and use those same 12 credits toward the M.S. in computer science and information systems. CSE Academic Resource Center

We support the advising services provided in each CSE department. We assist all CSE students, especially transfer and re-enrolling students, as well as any student with questions about academic policy. We are also available to address departmental advisors' concerns.
