Student Soldering

Intelligent Systems Engineering (ISE) is the future of engineering. This program creates the “SMART” engineer through an interdisciplinary program that combines Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Design, and the Internet of Things.

The ISE program will train the next generation of engineers that create intelligent devices and systems that sense and react to the environment in novel and smart ways. While engineering, in general, is all about problem-solving, ISE offers next-level solutions by leveraging advanced computing, pattern recognition, machine learning, and other forms of artificial intelligence.

ISE-generated solutions can take many forms, from autonomous vehicles, smart appliances, rockets, hypersonic jet engines, smart networking devices, cybersecurity devices, Medical Internet of Things, robotics, and more.

Interdisciplinary Bachelor Programs

Our interdisciplinary program sets you on the pathway to a successful career. You will develop skills in the critical and practical understanding of information technology that can lead to jobs in software development, programming, systems administration or cybersecurity.

The program provides you with the foundation needed to succeed in the rapidly expanding and evolving science of technology.

BS in Information Technology

The B.A. in Digital Arts is designed to prepare students to work in computer-art and design-related fields such as mobile-application and web design, game development, visual effects, film, interactive media, and other emerging opportunities at the cross-section of computer technology and the arts.

Students will also acquire the background needed to pursue research at the graduate level in areas such as graphics, virtual reality, simulation, and human-computer interaction.

BA in Digital Arts

Regardless of your chosen field, understanding cyber threats and how to mitigate these threats is an essential skill in a global economy that is increasingly dependent on the internet and electronic transactions.

UNCW will prepare you for a career helping businesses and individuals become resilient against cyber threats.

This Degree Prepares Workforce Ready Graduates.

  • We encourage you to participate in the industry certification preparation activities.
  • We advocate for internship/apprenticeship & co-op experiences.
  • Our core courses map into Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and other certifications.

BS in Cybersecurity

A 3+2 program offers you the opportunity to double major – earn a degree in a science major from UNCW in approximately three years and an engineering degree at NC State in the final two years of study. You will complete the NC State engineering transfer admission requirements while completing your UNCW major and University Studies requirements.
