- Closet Clean Out
In partnership with Housing and Residence Life and Hawk's Harvest Closet Clean Out is a yearly opportunity for resident students moving out of the halls to donate their unwanted food, clothing, household goods, and much more instead of throwing it away.
We place storage containers near the residence halls to collect material that are open daily for the two week period between last day of classes and the final move out date. These containers are open daily, so students can load in their donations. Staff and volunteers then unload, sort, separate, and fold items and prepare them for various local non-profits. In previous years, we've donated to Campus Catholic Ministry, Habitat for Humanity, Manos Unidas, Vintage Values, and Our Infant of Prague.
Spread Your Wings. Donate Your Things.
Closet Clean Out 2025
April 28 - May 12, 2025. Containers are open from 7:30 am to 430 pm during the event - including Saturday and Sunday. This year we will have 10 stations around the residence halls that provide an alternative for students to donate their unwanted goods instead of throwing it all away. Volunteer opportunities are available for faculty, staff, and student groups. We'll be providing a $50 stipend to student organizations that claim entire shifts!!
