Seahawks!
Welcome to UPD’s home on the web. Here you’ll find information about our services and campus safety-related policies. We are here 24/365. We are a direct link to city & county emergency services, as well as a variety of university services after normal business hours.
While it is our department’s mission to enhance the safety and security of the UNCW community, we cannot do it alone. Campus safety is a shared responsibility. While we patrol our campus 24/7, we also work to provide you with the tools and information to empower you to take your safety into your own hands. Our services include programs such as Operation ID, Drug & Alcohol Awareness, RAD (self-defense classes), a Medicine drop-box, Active Attacker Response, and others.
Outside of formal programming, we want to get to know your concerns and how we can help you directly, so we host a variety of other events we call PAC’N programs (Police and Community Networking). You might see these advertised as Coffee with a Cop or something similar. We’ve also compiled a list of general safety tips for various situations here. When you see us out and about, please take the opportunity to say hello, get to know what we are about, or just share your concerns. There is a lot going on in the world, not just with safety. Maybe we can help you ourselves or introduce you to a partner more suited to help you with a problem. You won’t know until you ask!
Thank you for coming here to review this message, and we’ll see you about campus!
