- Friday, April 11 from 5:15 p.m.-9 p.m.
- Saturday, April 12 from 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Sunday, April 13 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
- All skills sessions must be completed in order to obtain a Lifeguarding Certification
Purpose: The purpose of the Lifeguarding course is to teach the knowledge and skills needed to help prevent and respond to land and aquatic emergencies in both shallow water (less than 7 feet) and deeper water (7 feet or more). These skills include land and water rescue skills, recognition and response to cardiac, breathing, sudden illness, and first aid emergencies in adults, children, and infants first aid and resuscitation skills.
Lifeguarding Recertification

- Course Requirement: Must have a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification, or one expired by no more than 30 days. Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible guardian throughout the entirety of the course.

- Sunday, April 5 from 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
- All skills sessions must be completed in order to obtain a Lifeguarding Certification
Purpose: The purpose of the Lifeguarding Recertification course is to review the knowledge and skills needed to help prevent and respond to land and aquatic emergencies in both shallow water (less than 7 feet) and deeper water (7 feet or more). Lifeguarding Prerequisites:
- Successful completion of prerequisites is required prior to both the full and review lifeguarding courses.
- Must be 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of this course. Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible guardian throughout the entirety of the course.
- Must be able to demonstrate the following skills:
- Swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both, maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs, swim 50 additional yards using the front crawl or breaststroke or a combination of both. Swimming on the back or side is not permitted. Swim goggles are allowed.
- Complete a timed event, without goggles, within 1 minute, 40 seconds:
- Starting in the water, swim 20 yards with face in or out of the water.
- Surface dive, feet-first or head-first, to a depth of 10 feet to retrieve a 10 lb. brick and return to the surface.
- Swim on the surface 20 yards on the back to the starting point with both hands holding the brick and keeping the face at or near the surface to breathe.
- Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
Lifeguarding Certification Requirements - Participants must:
- Complete all online course content in advance of the corresponding in-person skill sessions (blended learning courses only).
- Attend the entire course and participate in all class sessions.
- Actively participate in all course activities, including assuming various roles during skill practices, skill drills, activities and scenarios.
- Demonstrate proficiency in all skills.
- Pass the final written exam with a minimum grade of 80 percent.
- Pass the final skill assessments
