Summer Overnight Programming

Our overnight programming is designed to continue your MarineQuest experience beyond the day's activities. Students will gain a taste of university student life while building community with other marine science enthusiasts. Students will participate in age appropriate activities and have free time supervised by MarineQuest evening instructors and residential assistants.

Our Overnight Only Programs are designed with the overnight experience included in the cost. Our Flex Programs offer this experience as an optional add-on (with an additional cost), meaning that the overnight experience is not automatically included. If you would like to add the overnight experience to your Flex Program, please be sure to submit a separate application for the overnight add-on in our registration system.

UNCW MarineQuest occupies a university residential hall for the duration of our overnight offerings. We share this space with other UNCW Academic Youth programming.

UNCW MarineQuest occupies our own floors. As a MarineQuest policy, we do occupy one floor for girls and one floor for boys.

UNCW MarineQuest works with campus catering for almost all student meals. 

We work closely with them to accommodate dietary restrictions and ensure that students are offered a balanced and healthy diet. For more information about campus dining check out their website.

If you need to speak to someone about your child's dietary restrictions, please contact UNCW Dining Services (dining@uncw.edu) and let them know that your child will be attending a summer program with MarineQuest.

MarineQuest's evening programming will allow your student an opportunity to clean up, rest, and re-energize mind and body.  

• 4 PM: Clean up from the day's adventures and enjoy a short "free choice" time at the residence hall. 
• 5 PM: Dinner at Wagoner Dining Hall
• 6 - 9 PM: Evening Activities.  Some of our favorite evening activities include beach night at Wrightsville Beach, team games at UNCW's recreation complex, and fireworks at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. Even rainy evenings are fun with indoor activities like robotics challenges, marine-theme arts and crafts, escape room quests, and theme activity nights.  
• 9 PM: Wind down time: Get ready for bed and choose a calm activity such as reading, journaling, making friendship bracelets, guided stretching/yoga/meditation, working a puzzle, or just chatting with friends.  
• 10 PM: Heads in beds and lights out. Rest is important as another big day awaits us tomorrow!
