Through the generosity of area donors UNCW MarineQuest is able to offer a limited amount of partial and full, need-based financial aid.

Financial aid is available to students in need. MarineQuest primarily provides aid for students ages 4 - 14 to support commuter attendance to programs.

Our financial aid budget is typically not determined until March at the earliest. You may not be notified of available aid until two weeks prior to the camp start date. Please take this into consideration before applying if you are in need of financial aid.

Need-Based Financial Aid

To qualify for a MarineQuest need-based financial aid, the student must be able to demonstrate financial need (or at risk status) by one of the following means:

A letter from your school system verifying the camper's participation in a free or reduced lunch program
Proof of housing assistance through HUD
Proof of food stamp assistance
Health coverage through Medicaid state agency
A letter from your teacher or guidance counselor classifying student as an "at-risk youth"

Financial Aid Process

If you meet the above-required qualifications and would like to be considered for a need-based program financial aid, please fill out the MarineQuest Financial Aid Request Form (no phone inquiries, please) to be put on our Summer 2026 financial aid request list.

APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID

Once a request form is completed, your student will be added to the financial aid list for consideration. Should funds become available, the family will be notified at least two weeks before the program start date.

If selected for financial aid, participants must immediately apply and follow all instructions provided to them at the time of selection. Failure to follow proper enrollment instructions may result in loss of financial aid.

Please note that all communication regarding financial aid will take place via email only. No phone calls will be returned (financial aid requests made by phone will not be considered as we require all the information and documentation in writing).
