We offer summer academic enrichment opportunities, school year standards-based programs, and community outreach events that engage youth in experiential education, service learning and leadership development.

Middle School or Younger

MARINEQUEST MarineQuest provides academically enriching opportunities for pre-k through pre-college students to explore and discover marine science through summer, school year, and field trip programs.  More on MarineQuest
WCE JR. SEAHAWK ACADEMY This day-only program serves middle-grade students (ages 10-14) who are interested in participating in engaging, fun, hands-on activities related to STEM, health fields and general education. More on Seahawk Academy

High School

CHHS IHEAL (CAMP) In this free overnight camp for rising 9th graders, students explore healthcare careers and majors available in southeastern North Carolina, at UNCW and other academic institutions. More on Summer Camps
CHHS IHEAL (SEMINARS) Designed to offer continued interactive healthcare learning, alumni seminars are held each fall and spring semester throughout former iHEAL campers’ high school experience leading up to high school graduation. More on Seminars

SUMMER VENTURES Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics is a 4-week overnight, research intensive program that engages North Carolina students in their sophomore and junior year of high school in the research process. More on Summer Ventures
UNCW COLLEGE ADVISING CORPS UNCW College Advising Corps hires UNCW alumni to serve as college advisers in underserved high schools. Advisers work to make education beyond high school more accessible for their students. More on CAC
UNCW MI CASA Mentors Initiating Community Action, Support, and Advocacy (MI CASA) is a free two-year mentoring program offering comprehensive support to help high school Latinx students become compelling candidates for college admission and scholarship awards. More on Mi Casa
UPWARD BOUND MATH & SCIENCE Upward Bound Math and Science is a federally funded TRIO program designed to develop the skills and motivation needed to succeed in postsecondary education that leads to careers in math and science. More on Upward Bound
YOUNG WRITERS WORKSHOP The Young Writers Workshop (YWW) is a four-night, three-day camp that brings together up to 45 high school students to study the craft of writing on the UNCW campus. More on YWW
YOUTH ENTREPRENEUR EXPERIENCE The Chancellor’s High School Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, also known as YEPex (Youth Entrepreneurship Program Experience), offers a year-long opportunity for high schoolers to explore their inner entrepreneurial spirit. More on YEPex

RISE LLC The RISE Living Learning Community at UNCW is designed for first-year students from rural counties in North Carolina and other areas with less access to resources, for first-generation college students, and for students with marginalized identities. More on RISE LLC
SEAHAWKS FIRST Seahawks First supports the unique needs of first-generation students and those impacted by the foster care system in order to increase enrollment, retention, and graduation rates among those students. More on Seahawks First
SOAR AMBASSADORS The SOAR Ambassador Program is a need-based scholarship opportunity offered by the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid. Scholarship recipients, or “SOAR Ambassadors," are selected as incoming freshmen. More on SOAR
