CESTEM is active in the pursuit of external funding to support K-12 teacher professional development, student STEM competitions and our successful technology loan program (TLP).
The National Science Foundation, the Burroughs-Wellcome Foundation, Vernier Technologies, and North Carolina Math/Science Partnership calls represent just a few of our proposal opportunities.
CESTEM partners with UNCW faculty and students, southeastern North Carolina regional schools, informal STEM partners, our business community and other statewide STEM centers. Successful support in garnering external funding is considered vital to the success of our center.
CESTEM has partnered on 60 grants submitted for external funding. The total funding received, since 1992, is about $4.4 million.
Would you like to partner with CESTEM in writing a grant? Any UNCW faculty or area K-12 teachers can contact us to discuss the possibility. CESTEM will provide all the logistics for your professional development activities associated with the grant. We can also help connect you to informal educators.
