Fall Festival--an annual social event where we have a raffle, booths, and food to celebrate the end of a month-long food drive for Hawk's Harvest
Dr. Mehl has served as interim director of the Honors College this past year, leading teams of faculty and staff committed to Honors programs and students, developing new course opportunities, and facilitating creative curricular and co-curricular experiences, including short- and long-term study abroad programs. This spring, she coordinated the Honors College move from UNCW Library in preparation for their new classroom and suite space in King Hall. Previously, Dr. Mehl served as the Honors College associate director from 2019-2023 and undergraduate program coordinator for the Department of History from 2017-2019.
Interim Associate Provost Michelle Scatton-Tessier notes, “Dr. Mehl’s commitment to students’ academic and personal success is unwavering. As part of the Senior Team in Undergraduate Education and Faculty Affairs, Eva is always thinking of innovative ways to support students, their learning, and their high-impact practices. I look forward to seeing her creative and innovative proposals in these areas taking shape.”
Dr. Mehl is an Associate Professor in the Department of History and the author of four books and numerous articles on Latin American History. She holds a Ph.D. in Latin American History from The University of California, Davis, a Ph.D. in European History from The University of Alicante, Spain, and a master’s in Latin American History from The Universidad Internacional de Andalucía, Spain.
