UNCW Honors is an intellectually and socially diverse group of engaged students, involved in every major and in all areas of university life.
Our mission: to offer an immediate community and a powerful, transformative experience that enriches the education and journey of each student by providing a larger context for their academic program through the completion of high-impact practices.
We offer three paths to Honors: University Honors, Bridge Honors, and Departmental Honors.
University Honors is a four-year curriculum including seminars, Honors-enhanced University Studies, extra-curricular experiences, and applied learning experiences. University Honors is expressed as "University Honors with Honors in Major."
Bridge Honors is a pathway for high-credit bearing transfer students incoming to still join Honors seminars and lifestyle experiences without having to complete extra University Studies requirements. Bridge Honors is expressed as "Bridge Honors with Honors in Major."
Departmental Honorsis an option for all undergraduate UNCW students with a 3.2 GPA or higher and includes a six-credit Honors Thesis course with a faculty supervisor's assistance over two to three semesters. Departmental Honors is expressed as "Honors in Major."
