Honors employs a host of connected student leaders who help us mentor students, engage with our campus and Wilmington community, and recruit the next generations of Honors students. Please see below for our student leaders' information.

Honors 110 Mentors

Honors Peer Mentors are dedicated upperclassmen who work in our Honors 110 courses, a course that introduces Honors first-years to the university and life in Honors. They attend all HON 110 course meetings, engage with the students in their section, and plan cross-section events.

Applications are due in March annually.

"Hi! My name is McKenna Beard, and I am from Charlotte, NC. I am a second-year student at UNCW majoring in Political Science and Criminology. After graduating I plan to attend law school and become a prosecutor in the future. In my free time, I love going to concerts and walking on the beach."

"Hi y’all! My name is Hannah Lowman, and I am from Stella, North Carolina. I am a senior transfer student from Coastal Carolina Community College, majoring in criminology and minoring in pre-law. After I graduate, I am hoping to attend law school at Campbell Law School with the ultimate dream of becoming a violent crimes prosecutor. Outside of Honors, I am a tour guide for the Office of Admissions, and I am involved in quite a few campus clubs and organizations. Currently, I am apart of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Professional Fraternity, Alpha Phi Sigma Criminology Honor Society, UNCW Sexuality and Gender Alliance Club (SAGA), UNCW College Democrats, and the UNCW Criminology and Sociology Club. Outside of school, I love spending time with my cat, Mildred, and watching crime shows."

"Hi! My name is Tyler Coker and I am from Lumberton, NC. I am in my third year at UNCW, majoring in criminology and minoring in forensic science and leadership studies. After graduation, I plan on obtaining my master's in criminology and forensic science to become a crime scene investigator. In my free time, I love drawing, reading, playing volleyball, and spending time with my friends."
