Welcome to the Seahawk Family! At UNCW, we are dedicated to helping you transition to UNCW as a transfer student. As a transfer student, we have so many resources and opportunities for you to connect with other transfer students and the larger UNCW community.

Transfer Connect

Looking to be part of a community and establish connections right away?

The Transfer Connect program is designed to help new transfer students develop connections with one another and to assist you with developing a support system here at UNCW. The program focuses on your transition to UNCW and helps you build lasting friendships early on. You will be placed in a small group of about 5-6 students who have similar values and interests to promote connection throughout the semester along with planned engagement opportunities. This program will run from September through November 2024.

Transfer Connect FAQs

When does the Transfer Connect program begin?  
The Transfer Connect program will start on September 4 with the Meet N’ Greet.

What is the Transfer Connect Program comprised of? 
The Transfer Connect Program is comprised of a total of 3 large events per semester.

Opportunities for you and your group to plan your own activities.

  • 4 Transfer Meet-up Opportunities 
  • Invited to attend all regular Transfer events throughout the semester in addition to the Transfer Connect events. 
  • Transfer Connect GroupMe Chat.  

Will the Transfer Connect Events have food?  
Yes, for the most part the TC events will have some sort of food at each event. This can range from snacks, a candy bar, pizza and other food items. 

Will the events/meet-ups be held on or off-campus? 
All organized Transfer Connect events will be held on campus, but groups are able to plan their own activities outside of these events. 

Can this be attended/practiced online or do I have to be there in person? 
The Transfer Connect program is more impactful if you are able to the events but is not mandatory to join the program. If you are unable to attend any of the events, you will still receive your group information and the option to join the GroupMe chat.
