How to Get Your One Card

Distance Education and OAP (Online Accelerated Program) Graduate and Undergraduate

To obtain your One Card as an online distance education student please email us so that we may share the options and process with you.

New Freshman & Transfer Students (Undergraduate)

  • New Freshman and Transfer students must submit their photo online to the UNCW One Card Online Photo SubmissionPlease email us if you have any questions!
  • Student One Cards are distributed at each orientation session (if you are not attending orientation you may obtain your One Card in our office once the semester begins). The cost of the initial card is $20.00 and will be charged to your student account.
  • A valid designated government-issued photo ID, such as a current driver’s license, passport, military ID, or state-issued identification card must be presented when obtaining a UNCW One Card.

Graduate Students

  • All Graduate Students must submit their photo to the UNCW One Card Online Photo Submission.
  • You may come to the One Card office to pick up your One Card in August, and at least two business days after you have registered for classes.
  • The cost of the initial card is $20.00 and will be charged to your student account. A valid designated government-issued photo ID, such as a current driver’s license, passport, military ID, or state-issued identification card must be presented when obtaining a UNCW One Card.

International Students (Undergraduate)

  • International students should submit their photo online to the UNCW One Card Online Photo Submission prior to orientation. Please email us if you have any questions!
  • One Cards are distributed by English Language Center or the Office of International Students & Scholars when you arrive on campus. The cost of the initial card is $20.00 and will be charged to your student account.
  • A valid designated government-issued photo ID, such as a current driver’s license, passport, military ID, or state-issued identification card must be presented when obtaining a UNCW One Card.

Faculty and Staff ID Card Request

  • To obtain your One Card please have your Supervisor, Department Head, or HR Representative sign the ID Card Request Form (Docusign). 
  • You must then submit a headshot via our UNCW One Card Online Photo Submission. Specifications are listed on the page.
  • Once we have recieved both the Request Form and a valid headshot, you will be notified when the card is ready. Please allow 1-2 business days for processing.
  • A valid designated government-issued photo ID, such as a current driver’s license, passport, military ID, or state-issued identification card must be presented when obtaining a UNCW One Card.

Contractor ID Card Request

  • To obtain your One Card please have your Campus Representative sign the ID Card Request Form (Docusign). We must receive the completed form prior to issuing your One Card.
  • A valid designated government-issued photo ID, such as a current driver’s license, passport, military ID, or state-issued identification card must be presented when obtaining a UNCW One Card.

Request for Transact Access

  • Access to Transact Systems (Transact, Transact Reporting, QuadPoint Cashier, QuadPoint Admin, or Windcave) can be requested to complete necessary job duties.
  • If you are requesting QuadPoint or Windcave you must complete PCI Awareness Training (in Skillport CBT) and upload your certificate with your completed Transact Access Request Form.

Isaac Bear (IBEC) ID Card Request

The IBEC Coordinator should complete the Isaac Bear ID Card Request Form (PDF) for each student in need of a UNCW One Card.

The forms and photos of each IBEC student should be returned to the UNCW One Card Office, once the One Cards are printed the One Card Staff will notify the IBEC Coordinator.

Transition Program for Young Adults (TPYA) ID Card Request

The TPYA Coordinator should complete the Transition Program for Young Adults Request Form (PDF) for each student in need of a UNCW One Card.

The forms and photos of each TPYA student should be returned to the UNCW One Card Office, once the One Cards are printed the One Card Staff will notify the TPYA Coordinator.

About My UNCW One Card

The cost of the UNCW One Card is $20.00:
  • The student UNCW One Card is automatically charged to the Student Account, which may be paid online through the Student Account e-bill, or in-person with Cash or Check at the Student Account's Cashier's windows in Warwick Center.
  • All other cards (faculty, staff, alumni, contractor, etc.) must be paid for in the One Card Office upon receiving the card.

Lost or stolen cards should be reported immediately so that the card may be deactivated. You can report your lost or stolen card by:

  • Going online to suspend your card, or
  • By visiting or calling the One Card Office at 910.962.3560 during normal business hours, or
  • By visiting or calling University Police at 910.962.2222 if outside normal business hours.

All replacement cards are $25.00. You must bring a form of photo ID (driver's license, passport, etc.) with you to obtain your One Card.

  • For students: the charge will be charged to your Student Account.
  • All other cards (faculty, staff, alumni, contractor, etc.): the charge must be paid by cash, check, or credit card.
  • You must bring a form of photo ID (driver's license, passport, etc.) with you to obtain your One Card.
  • The departmental charge account is an account requested by a department head, dean, vice chancellor, provost or the chancellor.
  • The account enables a department to charge meals or other various items to be billed to the department.
  • The cards may be specified for use for copying, meal charges, or building access.
  • Most departments use these departmental cards when they are hosting guests on campus.
  • Departmental copy accounts are credit accounts available university departments to make photocopies.

Voter ID FAQs

Yes! All student, faculty, and staff UNCW One Cards may be used as a voter ID.

(Other cards: contractor, visitor, guest, etc. are not eligible.) 

That's no problem! All current student, faculty, and staff UNCW One Cards may be used as a voter ID without an expiration date. You do not need to get a replacement card with an expiration date. 

All UNCW One Cards issued after July 2023 will have an expiration date. 

UNCW One Card Account FAQs

Seahawk Buck$

The Seahawk Buck$ account is a flexible spending account, available to all cardholders (students, faculty and staff, alumni, retirees, trustees, family members and guests). Seahawk Buck$ turn your UNCW One Card into an on-campus debit card. Seahawk Buck$ eliminate the need to carry cash on campus.

Seahawk Buck$ can be used at any point-of-sale location on campus!

  • Campus dining locations
  • iPrint and iPrint Business Center
  • Outdoor Discovery
  • Randall Library
  • Office of the Registrar
  • Student Health and Pharmacy Services
  • Seahawk Mail
  • Student Recreation Center
  • UNCW Bookstore
  • Vending machines and more

You may also make deposits to your (or your student's) Seahawk Buck$ account:

Yes, you may elect to have payroll deduction. Simply fill out a payroll deduction form at Human Resources, and you can have funds automatically put into your Seahawk Buck$ on every payday.

No, you are not permitted to withdraw monies from your Seahawk Buck$ account.

  • All cardholders are responsible for closing their account if they wish to be refunded.
  • To close a Seahawk Buck$ account, the cardholder must fill out a Seahawk Buck$ Refund Request Form and return it to the One Card Office.
  • Refunds will be given for a balance greater than the $30.00 administrative fee when a Seahawk Buck$ account is closed.
  • Refunds are adjusted for any outstanding charges on the student's account.
  • The account may be closed at any time.
  • If there is a balance greater than the $30.00 administrative fee. However, once the account is closed, it may not be re-opened until the next semester.
  • All refunds are subject to the student's account receivable, e-refund account, and all checks are mailed to the permanent mailing address.

The student's balance is shown every time the UNCW One Card is used.

The student may also check their balance via the UNCW One Card Online Management Center.

Meal Plans and Food

Food Dollars work like a debit card and may be used at any food service location on campus.

UNCW offers a great variety of meal plans to choose from. Each meal plan is tailored to fit the busy schedules of students, faculty and staff members.

A meal plan can save you time and money whether you're grabbing a quick bite or a big meal. With meal plans, there's no need to carry cash or a credit card. It's all on your UNCW One Card.

For Students

To add a Meal Plan: Login to mySeaport. Then follow these steps:

  • At the mySeaport login, type your UNCW e-mail username (without @uncw.edu) and your password.
  • Select the Student Services tab.
  • Click on Student Meal Plan Application under Services.
  • Select the meal plan of choice.

How to Add Food Dollars:

  • Email mealplans@uncw.edu from your UNCW email address
  • Include your student ID number and the amount you would like to add, either $50, $100, or $200.
  • All requests will be processed manually. Please allow 1-2 business days for processing. A confirmation email reply will be sent once the account has been updated.
UNCW One Card Access FAQs

Door and Gate Access

Door access will only be granted upon receiving a request from the authorized personnel for that building/department.

If your UNCW One Card does not work in the Student Recreation Center, and you are a full-time permanent faculty/staff or a student, contact wither one of these offices:

  1. Visit the Auxiliary Services office in the Warwick Center
  2. Contact the Physical Security and Access Department, at 910.962.3564 or AccessMgmt@uncw.edu.
  • All permanent faculty or staff who have a current parking permit are authorized to use the gated surface parking lots around campus.
  • The gate privilege is on the UNCW One Card.
  • Faculty/staff may park in the parking deck only if they have a valid deck parking permit. Faculty/staff who have purchased a deck parking permit are authorized to use the parking deck as well as any other faculty/staff parking lots.
  • Please telephone the Auxiliary Services office at 910.962.3178, or stop by the UNCW One Card Office in the Warwick Center, and we will fix your card if you are a permanent university employee with a valid parking permit but your card will not work in the parking gates.
