The Student Media Board is our governing body. The board allocates funds, appoints student media managers, advises the student publications, and works to protect their right to unfettered free expression.
The SMB is composed of students, faculty, university staff, and non-voting advisers. Students make up the largest voting bloc.
Other student-media organizations, such as Flicker Film Society and the UNCW Photography Club, are funded by the Student Government Association and also benefit from the support of the SMB.
The SMB meets monthly in the fall and twice monthly in the spring.
Meetings are open to the public unless closed for personnel matters.
If you are interested in serving as a student-at-large, contact the adviser, Bill DiNome for information.
