If you're looking for ways to get involved, you have plenty of options at UNCW and beyond. In fact, it's encouraged and supported by the university.
UNCW offers permanent staff up to 24 hours paid leave for their volunteer efforts. In fact, Human Resources has a year-long program that will equip you to build new relationships, gain an understanding of our community’s needs, and share your talents or interests with others.
UNCW Staff Award for Excellence in Community Engagement is presented by the Office of Community Engagement to recognize university staff members who have made a significant contribution to UNCW’s culture of engagement, further establishing and strengthening UNCW’s commitment to supporting the communities we serve.
Faculty involvement is often related to their teaching, scholarship and service. Faculty recognition for community engagement includes the Distinguished Scholarly Engagement and Public Service Award.
Continuing and Professional Education, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, Quality Enhancement for Nonprofit Organizations and the Office of the Arts all engage UNCW Faculty for non-credit teaching, coaching and performing opportunities.
