Program Description
Join MarineQuest for a high energy week of sea sports! You'll have the chance to surf, paddle board, kayak, snorkel, and fish as you review weather and tide conditions each day and learn how these predictions are made. Examine tidal forces and how they impact recreational activities in the salt marsh and even the beach. Understand the science behind fishing regulations by collecting population data and simulating different fishing technologies. Explore the world of physics by collecting real time data while surfing and boogie boarding and get experience identifying beach front hazards. Learn the science and safety measures you need to know when recreating outdoors.
Prerequisites
Must have completed 4th grade and turn 10 by the start of the program.
