Students classified as first-year students are required to live in on-campus housing for their first two years at UNCW. Get more information on this housing requirement.
First-year students are required to participate in one of the Hawk meal plans. See additional information regarding meal plans.
First-year students are required to live in a traditional first-year residence hall. Here are the options:
June 28th: Last chance to change building and roommate preferences
July 6th: Housing Assignments for First Years and Transfers are released
August 18th-19th: Move-In Fall 2023
Early October: Spring Housing Opens
December 18th: Winter Break (University closed)
February: Fall housing application
Each Living Learning Community is assigned to a specific area of campus. You may select up to 3 building preferences and 1 roommate preference. However, the Living Learning Community you join will determine where you will be assigned.
Typically, your requested roommate must also be a member of that community. University College should be able to provide more information about their Learning Communities' processes and programs.
