Student Meal Plans

Your meal plan is an important part of your experience at UNCW. Students living in select required housing locations must have a Hawk plan.

How to Sign Up

  • Login to MySeaport, select the Students tab (at the top of the page)
  • Select the Submit a Student Meal Plan Application link (in the middle under Housing, Dining & Transportation)
  • Complete the required information on the online form

There is no deadline to sign up for a meal plan, but there is a deadline to change your meal plan (see below). The meal plan cost is billed to the student account e-bill.

You will receive an email from us once your meal plan is active and available to use!

Meal Plan Change Instructions

Meal Plan changes are allowed prior to the end of the meal plan change period for the semester (see policies and procedures). 

To change (or cancel) your meal plan, follow the instructions below to submit a meal plan application for your request. You will be credited for your current plan and charged for your new plan (if applicable) on the student account e-bill within 2-3 business days. 

  • Login to MySeaport, select the Students tab (at the top of the page)
  • Select the Submit a Student Meal Plan Application link (in the middle under Housing, Dining & Transportation)
  • Complete the required information on the online form

You will receive an email once your meal plan change/cancellation has been processed.

About Meal Plans

All Students Living in On-Campus Required Housing

Students living in the following on-campus required housing locations are required to have a Hawk meal plan and have the option to upgrade or downgrade from the Hawk Silver default plan, prior to the end of the change period, giving flexibility with meal options. If a meal plan is not chosen, the Hawk Silver plan will automatically be assigned:

  • Sandpiper, Pelican, Terrapin, Loggerhead, Belk, Graham, Hewlett, Schwartz, Cornerstone, Keystone, and Innovation

All Students Living in the University Suites

The default plan is the Hawk Silver, but students have the option to either upgrade to the Hawk Gold or downgrade to the Hawk Bronze or Block 125, prior to the end of the change period. 

All Students in On-Campus Voluntary Housing (Seahawk Crossing, Landing, or Village), or Off Campus

A meal plan is not required, however, students may select any meal plan offered if desired. There are several voluntary meal plan options tailored to students who may dine on campus occasionally.

*NC Sales Tax is charged on the Meals portion only at the time of meal plan purchase. Food Dollars will be taxed as they are used.

If students would like a smaller option, they can add Seahawk Bucks to their account. Seahawk Bucks can be used at all UNCW Dining Locations and other locations on campus.

Summer 2024 Meal Plans

If you are registered for a class for Summer Session I or II, we have meal plans that can fit your needs! 

Summer Session I & II 2024 Meal Plans

  • Summer I meal plans can be used all summer; both Summer I and Summer II.
  • Summer II meal plans are active for the Summer II session only.
  • See important meal plan dates for more information.

Please note: Meal Plan changes are not permitted during the summer sessions.

Summer Food Dollar Rolling/Expiration

  • Unused Food Dollars roll over to the next semester if and only if you purchase a meal plan for that semester.
  • Rolling occurs from summer to fall and fall to spring only.
  • Unused Food Dollars will be rolled into the following semester’s account after the meal plan change period for that semester.
  • All unused Food Dollars expire at the end of the spring semester.
  • Unused Food Dollars will be rolled into the following semester account, as explained above, after the meal plan change period for a semester.
