Student Meal Plans

UNCW Meal plans are convenient, flexible and loaded with options. They give you easy access to dining locations across campus with a range of hours. Learn more about how meal plans work for students.

Meal Plan Components
Meal Plans come with a range of options for students! There are four main components associated with student meal plans: Teal Meals, Food Dollars, All Access Meals/Dining Hall Meals, and Guest Meals. Read more about each component below!

Meal Plans

Teal Meals

Hawk Meal Plans and Block Plans use Teal Meals for a pre-determined combo meal at specific retail dining locations. See Where Can You Use Your Meal Plan for a list of locations where they may be used.

Dining Hall Meals

Block Plans use these meals at the Dining Halls: Wagoner Hall, The Shore Dining Hall, or Dub's Cafe. (Hawk plans use All Access Meals at these locations.)

Expiration

There is no time constraint with Teal Meals - use as many as you like! Hawk plans allot Teal Meals on a weekly basis and unused meals expire each week, while Block plans allot Teal Meals on a semester basis and meals expire at the end of the semester.

Food Dollars are a pre-paid declining balance account used exclusively at Campus Dining locations, in addition to Food Trucks, Convenience Stores, Vending Machines, and Dub City Brew @ Barnes and Noble Cafe.

Expiration: Food Dollars expire each semester. However, unused Food Dollars are permitted to roll if you have a meal plan in the following semester. Rolling is permitted from summer to fall and fall to spring only. All unused Food Dollars expire at the end of the spring semester

All Access Meals in the Hawk Bronze, Hawk Silver and Hawk Gold plans provide the meal plan holder entry into Wagoner Dining Hall, The Shore Dining Hall, and Dub's Cafe.

Expiration: All Access Meals are for the meal plan holder only, and meals expire at the end of the semester.

Guest Meals are used for guests of the meal plan holder to dine at Wagoner Hall, The Shore Dining Hall, and Dub's Cafe.

The meal plan holder may also use Guest Meals for themselves.

How to Check Your Meal Plan Balance

  • Log in to the UNCW One Card Online Management Center (link can also be found under account management on the UNCW One Card webpage).
  • You will see a number of cards listed on the left. Scroll to find your meal plan - your Food Dollars will be listed somewhere in the middle, and your Teal Meals will be listed at the bottom.
  • Your Food Dollar balance will be reflected on the bottom right of the card, while your Meal Balance will be listed by clicking on the card with the meal name (i.e. All Access, Teal Meals, Block Meals).
  • To see transaction information, click on the card and scroll back to the top.

Adding Food Dollars

Food Dollars may be added to any meal plan after the meal plan change period ends until the last day of class. Add-On Food Dollars are billed to the Student Account. Food Dollars expire each semester. However, unused Food Dollars roll over to the next semester if and only if you purchase a meal plan for that semester.

Additionally, rolling occurs from summer to fall and fall to spring ONLY. Unused Food Dollars will be rolled into the following semester’s account after the meal plan change period for that semester. All unused Food Dollars expire at the end of the spring semester.

How to add food dollars:

  • Email mealplans@uncw.edu
  • Include your student ID number and the amount you would like to add, either $50, $100, or $200.
  • All requests will be processed manually. Please allow 1-2 business days for processing. A confirmation email reply will be sent once the account has been updated.

Adding Teal Meals

Block 50, Block 85, or Block 125 plans may add Teal Meals to their plan after the meal plan change period ends until the last day of class.

How to add Teal Meals:

  • Email mealplans@uncw.edu
  • Include your student ID number and the amount you would like to add (choose from 10, 20, or 50 meals)
  • All requests will be processed manually. Please allow 1-2 business days for processing. A confirmation email reply will be sent once the account has been updated.
    • 10 Teal Meals for $100 + tax
    • 20 Teal Meals for $190 + tax
    • 50 Teal Meals for $410 + tax
