Org Committee

The “org” is part of the Banner Chart of Accounts which drives the Integrated Banner Administrative Systems.

• Drives access, security, and reporting in Banner Finance
• Drives access in Banner HR for EPAF, Leave Reporting, Positions, Budgets, and Funding
• Drives access to subsystems (WORKS, Chrome River, uShop, E-Print, Decentralization feeds)

Every department that has any changes in organizational structure (i.e. when unit or area changes in who they report to or who reports to them, changes when department moves to another unit or division, changes when department is deleted, added, split, or moved).

1. Email Org_Committee@uncw.edu to request the Org Change Questionnaire. 
2. Complete the form and submit to Org_Committee@uncw.edu along with the division/college’s org chart
3. Review the UNCW Policy “Department Structure” 2.120 (Government & Administration Section) - (Policy being updated)
4. Org Committee Chair/Co-Chair will contact you to set up a meeting
5. After the meeting, you will be sent the Org workbook to complete for your org change requests. Deadline for org change submission is Friday, May 2nd
6. Committee members related to your org change requests may contact you with questions related to your org changes.

• Org changes are effective on July 1st (new fiscal year).
• Meeting with the Chair and the Committee should begin in January for changes effective July 1st.

• Required forms must be completed and submitted to the Org Committee by the published year-end date. Please visit the Year-End Info page for dates.

An org change to an existing Fund number is not retroactive. The historical information remains in the old org.

Updates to:

• Fund budgets in the new org
• Access and security
• Updated position and salary documents (permanent and pooled)
• Chrome River, WORKS, decentralized feeds (such as printing, telecom, etc.)
• Open PO’s

Org changes at the 3 or 4 digit divisional level have less impact on access, security, positions, decentralized feeds, etc.
