Programming At-A-Glance

Pedagogy Workshops

Pedagogy workshops are content-rich and often interactive sessions focused on learning pedagogical approaches and developing practical strategies and skills for effective teaching.

Intensives

Intensive programming offers a deeper dive than our pedagogy workshops, with formats ranging from half-day to multi-day institutes.

Thematic Series

Often in collaboration with academic partners or special guests, Thematic Series programming offers a deep dive into a chosen theme and can include various session formats such as discussions, pedagogy workshops, and trainings.

Microsessions

In 30 minutes or less, microsessions are designed for microlearning - delivering information with a bite-sized, focused approach, ideal for accessing a condensed explanation or exploring specific issues or problems.

Campus Resource Series

The Campus Resource Series showcases the many teaching resources available at UNCW and facilitates helpful conversations guided by the expertise of our academic partners across campus.

Critical Conversations

Critical Conversations prioritizes making time for discussion with colleagues. These sessions encourage meaningful conversations about emergent and important issues in higher education.

SoTL Scholar Spotlight

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Scholar Spotlight sessions invite scholars to showcase their expertise with a focus on a single paper, project, or area of scholarship. Presentations include discussion of theory, relevant literature, methodology, study findings, and implications. Not only does the series highlight recent work in the field, SoTL Scholar Spotlight serves as an opportunity to learn more about how to conduct SoTL and build our SoTL community at UNCW.

CTE Well-Being Lab

CTE Well-Being Lab is a space to experientially explore well-being together through creativity, play, and movement to enliven our relationship with work and make connections to our identities as educators, as well as what and how we teach.

Scholarship Circles

Scholarship Circles invite participants to discuss a common scholarly read.

Community-Building Events

Our community-building events encourage time for connecting with colleagues in service and celebration of teaching.

Self-Paced Learning

Self-paced learning opportunities allow for independent study of pedagogical frameworks, approaches, strategies, and techniques. These vary in format, and include asynchronous resources available on the CTE Canvas site.
