These guidelines apply to the profiles that faculty and staff members may create to appear in the Faculty & Staff Profile Module for the uncw.edu website.
About the Module
The Faculty & Staff Profile Module offers a dynamic and consistent way to showcase faculty and staff listings on university web pages. Each profile is created, maintained, and updated by the individual faculty or staff member, ensuring accuracy. To view a faculty or staff profile, you need to know the URL or access it through the university team page.
Basic Guidelines
Profile Content & Formatting Guidelines
Profiles should be professional in terms of content and formatting. The tone, spelling, grammar and punctuation should reflect the standards of formal business communication. Avoid endorsing specific viewpoints on contemporary political debate or social action (more guidance on this below).
Using the Faculty & Staff Profile Module for team listings is optional and at the site owner's discretion. If preferred, the site owner may retain their existing “Meet the Team” webpage.

Component Options
Three Layout Options for Team Listings
Profile List
You can use our "Profile List" component to display team profiles on web pages in a two-column format, with or without photos.
Profile Grid Feature
A "Profile Grid Feature" may also be used on key marketing pages, such as faculty lists on program pages and academic department sites.
The grid requires a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 24 profiles. We recommend using a profile list component if your group size is outside these limits.
