Cybersecurity Awareness Colloquia
October 18, 2019 - UNCW
On 18 October 2019, UNCW’s Center for Cyber Defense Education (CCDE) will host the first annual Cybersecurity Awareness Colloquia. This one-day conference, held during National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, will highlight the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Cybersecurity Workforce Framework (NICE Framework), published by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The Colloquia will be held at the UNCW Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE).
NICE
The NICE Framework establishes a taxonomy and common lexicon to describe cybersecurity work, and workers, regardless of where, or for whom, the work is performed. The Framework allows for a common view of the knowledge, skills, and abilities associated with the various specialty areas which serves to enhance understanding among the members of the cybersecurity community, especially as we face the challenge of closing the cybersecurity workforce gap.
