Important Updates to Duo Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Coming Jan. 27

We're excited to share some important updates to UNCW’s Duo two-factor authentication (2FA) system, aimed at enhancing security across our campus. These updates include the introduction of Duo Verified Push and improvements to Duo Passcodes, both of which are designed to provide better protection for your account and data.

IT Security Update to Open Authorization (OAuth 2.0)

OAuth 2.0 is an authorization protocol websites or applications use to access information from other apps. If you have used campus applications such as Zoom or Adobe, then you have utilized OAuth 2.0.  Read More About What's Changing With Oauth 2.0.

Report an IT Security Incident

Please report threats or incidents involving someone’s personal safety (e.g., cyber stalking, harassment, etc.) to Campus Police

Please report to IT Security Team via email itsecurity@uncw.edu

Please follow these instructions:

  1. Please submit a ticket through the myTAC portal
  2. File police report with proper jurisdiction (if appropriate) 
  3. Notify your manager
