Transfer Applicants
UNCW uses a holistic approach to review transfer students' applications and will consider several aspects of your application in making our admission decision.
Please note that considerations for military-affiliated (active-duty or Veteran) students differ from traditional transfer students. Considerations for military applicants can be found on the Military Students admissions website.
Transfer Admission Requirements
- Meet UNC system high school minimum course requirements as outlined below (Applicants who are 21 years of age or older or who have completed 24 hours of transferable undergraduate credits are exempt from this requirement)
- Have completed or enrolled in 24 transferable undergraduate credit hours
- Be eligible to return to the last institution attended
Transfer Admission Recommendations
- A cumulative 2.4 college GPA on all attempted transferable coursework
- Completed or enrolled in college-level English and/or math
Please note:
- Meeting the admission requirements or recommendations does not guarantee admission nor does it guarantee admission into your academic program of interest.
- Grades below a C (including C-) will not transfer but are included in the GPA calculation.
If you are applying to an Online Accelerated Program, please note that there are additional minimum requirements for consideration. Please review the requirements for admission based on your intended program:
