Transfer applicants may apply to enter the university at the beginning of the summer, fall, or spring term. Deadlines for each term are provided below, as well as the process for applying as a transfer student.
Summer/Fall Entry
Application Submission Deadlines
Summer: March 1
Fall: March 1 (priority), June 1 (final)
Applications received after deadlines will be considered on a space available basis only. To qualify for admissions merit scholarships, applicants must apply by priority deadlines.
Application Completion Deadlines
Summer: April 1
Fall: June 1
All transcripts (including high school, any postsecondary institution, and military if applicable) must be received by the completion deadline for the desired term. The application fee payment must also be received by the application completion deadline.
Enrollment Deposit Deadlines
Summer: May 1
Fall: July 1 or 10 days from the date of admission letter
The enrollment deposit is the official acceptance of the offer of admission. These represent final deadlines, but students will not be able to take next enrollment steps until the deposit is submitted. We encourage transfer students to accept their offer as soon as possible to proceed with enrollment.
Spring Entry
Transfer students can apply to enter UNCW in the spring semester. Entry in the spring term is not more competitive, but space is limited so students are encouraged to apply early and adhere to the following deadlines:

Application fee waivers are available for qualifying students. Contact the Office of Admissions to inquire about fee waivers.
A copy of any in-progress coursework
Additional test scores if applicable (i.e. AP, IB, CLEP, etc.). (Applicants are encouraged to submit any AP, IB, or CLEP test scores to supplement their application and ensure transfer of credit)
You Request Your School to Submit
Applicants are responsible for requesting these items; your school will not submit the items automatically:
Official transcript(s) from all colleges and/or universities attended
An official high school transcript showing your date of graduation or proof of a GED or Adult High School Diploma
Home-Schooled students must submit a notarized transcript signed by the School Administrator.
High school transcripts are not required for applicants who have already completed a Bachelor's degree and are seeking a second degree.

To be official, transcripts must come directly from the school or be in a sealed envelope. Electronic submission is encouraged when possible.
