Student Success Center (SSC)

The Student Success Center (SSC) serves as a resource for all current and prospective students interested in a teaching career. SSC assists students with admission to programs, academic advising, scholarships and career planning. We can also provide information on UNCW student organizations and help to connect you with resources across campus.

Students We Support

On-Campus Undergraduate Students Watson offers on-campus programs for future teachers at all grade levels, from Pre-K through high school. We provide advising and support for all undergraduate teacher education students. Learn More
Transfer Students More than 50% of education students transfer to UNCW from another college or university. We offer special programs to help your transition to our teacher education programs. Learn More
Extension Students Watson offers distanced hybrid programs for students seeking licensure in Elementary or Middle Grades Education. We support our extension students with advising and resources. Learn More

Licensure Only

We invite students interested in licensure only to contact our team. We offer licensure only, residency licensure, and graduate-level add-on licensure programs. We can help you find the pathway that works best for your educational and career goals.

Advising From the time you apply until you complete your degree, the SSC team is here to help with advice on admission to the Watson College, planning your course of study, field experiences and other important educational decisions you’ll make along the way. Advising Information

From the time you declare as a pre-education major until you graduate, you’ll have a dedicated Academic Advisor. Your advisor will answer questions as you make important educational decisions, help you through admissions to WCE, and provide connections within the college and across campus.
