Beyond the Classroom

Our students have gone on to work for prominent employers not only locally, but nationally. Some of our recent alumni are working with major companies such as Amazon, LiveOak Bank, RedHat, Lenovo, nCino, Verizon and more. Our faculty take pride in ensuring students are well prepared for a wide variety of careers in marketing and sales upon graduating.

New York Trip

The trip is organized by the Departments of Economics and Finance and Marketing. Economics and Finance students visit major financial institutions to learn more about cutting-edge issues involving the global economy and financial system; past visits include Bank of America, JP Morgan, New York Federal Reserve Bank, and Moody's.

Marketing Strategy and Professional Selling students visit major corporations to learn more about the various aspects of Marketing and International Business. Companies visited in past years include: Interbrand, Viacom, Bloomberg, SAKS 5th Avenue, NBC Universal and Spotify.

Prague Consulting Project

This three-credit course provides an opportunity for business students to engage in a real-life consulting project for a client in the Czech Republic.

Previously, students have traveled to Prague to present their in-depth marketing and financial analysis results for an established recycling company. In addition, the students participated in corporate visits to and presentations from companies such as Ernst and Young and Mastercard.

Degree-seeking business students with an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and that have successfully completed FIN 335 and MKT 340 are encouraged to apply.

Internships

Internships are available for experience and, for qualified students, academic credit. Interested students have access to more information through the Canvas course 'Marketing Student Information'. To receive academic credit, students must have completed MKT 340 and 6 additional hours of MKT courses, a 3.0 GPA, admission to the Cameron School of Business, and senior standing.
