Students participating in the Student Managed Investment Fund (through FIN 440) actively manage the Truist Capitalism Center’s $2 million endowment. Each semester the students in the program analyze the state of the US economy, the fund’s current holdings, and make recommendations to the fund’s board. The investment fund allows students to truly be analysts and help manage a real endowment.

Students with a strong GPA are eligible to take on Departmental Honors research projects. These projects are faculty mentored projects where students push society’s knowledge forward by developing a research question, a plan to answer the question, and then executing on that plan. The projects culminate in a thesis defense shortly before graduation.  All students who complete the project are eligible to graduate with university honors.
