David A. Macpherson
David A. Macpherson is the E.M. Stevens Professor of Economics and Department Chair at Trinity University. Before joining Trinity, he held the Rod and Hope Brim Eminent Scholar Chair in Economics and was the Director of the Pepper Institute on Aging and Public Policy at Florida State University. Previously, he served as an assistant and associate professor of economics at Miami University. His teaching areas include principles of microeconomics, money and banking, econometrics, and labor economics. He received two university-wide teaching awards at FSU. Professor Macpherson earned his undergraduate and doctoral degrees in economics from Pennsylvania State University.
David Macpherson is an applied economist whose research concentrates on real estate, pensions, discrimination, industry deregulation, labor unions, and the minimum wage. Dr. Macpherson has published more than 60 articles in leading economics and real estate journals, including Review of Economics and Statistics, Industrial and Labor Relations Review, Journal of Labor Economics, Journal of Human Resources, and Journal of Real Estate Economics and Finance. His research has been funded by various entities such as the National Science Foundation, the Florida Legislature, and the National Association of Realtors. He is co-author of the undergraduate labor economics textbook, Contemporary Labor Economics, as well as the principles of economics textbook, Economics: Private and Public Choice. He is listed in Who’s Who in Economics, Fourth Edition, which features the 1,200 most frequently cited economists.
Joab Corey
Joab Corey received his education in economics from West Virginia University where he won the 2008 WVU Doctoral Student Teaching Award. He was then hired by Florida State University (FSU) where he worked for seven years before missing the mountains and deciding to move to the University of California, Riverside (UCR). He became an associate professor of teaching in economics and specialized in teaching large section introduction to economics classes where he uses interactive class demonstrations, virtual break rooms, and student-designed economic T-shirts to create an enthusiastic learning environment. After eight years at UCR and missing the east coast, he was hired as a senior lecturer at Duke University where he currently teaches microeconomics and public finance to public policy students. He has been the recipient of several teaching awards including the FSU Transformation Through Teaching award, the Florida State University Undergraduate Teaching Award, the UC Riverside Honors Professor of the Year award, and the UC Riverside Innovative Teaching Award. He was also named one of the “Top 25 Professors” by Rate My Professor.com in 2012.
Dr. Elisabeth Dellegrazie, Ph.D., MBA
Dr. Elisabeth Dellegrazie is a Marketing Professor at Coastal Carolina University with experience in integrating AI and experiential learning methodologies into higher education. As a Fulbright U.S. Scholar at the University of Maribor in Slovenia (2024), she conducted groundbreaking research on active learning in multicultural teams and the development of transversal competencies. Dr. Dellegrazie co-developed the innovative Virtual International Hackathon program, which has successfully connected students across multiple countries through technology-enhanced collaborative learning experiences.
Her work in cross-cultural education has been presented at numerous international conferences, including UCF Teaching and Learning with AI (2025), FIU Global Learning Forum, and NAFSA 2022. She has integrated AI into this process as a tool for enhanced learning and skill development. During her distinguished 16-year career at Concordia University Chicago, Dr. Dellegrazie served in multiple administrative leadership roles, including Assistant Dean of Faculty, Curriculum, and Instruction, Division Chair of Undergraduate Studies, Chair of International Academic Programs, and Marketing Discipline Chair. Her administrative accomplishments include securing a $63,000 CARLI grant for Open Educational Resources, establishing academic partnerships across six countries, and developing satellite MBA campuses.
As marketing faculty member, she pioneered innovative teaching approaches in project-based learning with community businesses. Dr. Dellegrazie brings a unique perspective that bridges academic theory with practical application, having managed multimillion-dollar marketing portfolios at companies including Boise Inc., Grohe America, and ITW Brands before transitioning to academia. She holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Concordia University Chicago, an MBA with a concentration in Marketing from Loyola University Chicago and maintains active involvement with the BoodleBox AI Leadership Council dedicated to responsible AI integration in higher education. When not pioneering AI in the classroom or researching cross-cultural competencies, she enjoys exploring the great outdoors through hiking adventures and glamping excursions in her RV with family.
