The rubrics used by UNCW to assess general education are all developmental metarubrics. They are meant to capture student achievement across the baccalaureate experience and to be applicable across disciplines.
UNCW uses the AAC&U VALUE rubrics to assess Critical Thinking, Information Literacy, Inquiry, Oral Communication, and Written Communication. Diversity and Global Citizenship are assessed using locally-developed rubrics.
All of the rubrics, along with information about rubric validity and reliability, are available to faculty and staff on the General Education Assessment SharePoint site.
