Hugh Caison

Earl F. “Hugh” Caison II '85 was welcomed as a UNCW Board of Trustees member in December 2021. He was reappointed in 2023 by the Board of Governors to a term that ends in 2027. He serves as Chair of the Board and formerly served as Vice Chair, and on the Business Affairs and the Educational Planning and Programs committees.

Caison graduated from UNCW with a degree in business administration. He worked in pharmaceutical sales before becoming a McDonald’s franchisee. As president and CEO of Caison Enterprises, Inc., he owned and operated McDonald’s restaurants in Clinton, Wallace, Warsaw, Newton Grove, Beulaville, and Kenansville, NC. He is a past Cameron School of Business Alumnus of the Year honoree and UNCW Foundation member.  

He and his wife, Nan ’83, reside in Wilmington and are sponsors of UNCW Athletics and UNCW Society members. They are parents to Kate, Rachel '17, and Sarah.
