Withdrawal & Credit Schedules

A reduction in hours after drop/add does not reduce the tuition charges on your account. Students who choose to withdraw from a class after the drop/add date will not receive an adjustment of the tuition and fees unless they are completely withdrawing from all classes. Students should consult the Withdrawal Credit Schedule for percentages.

Withdrawal Tuition and Fee Credit Schedule

Tuition and fees refund for complete withdrawals from the university are prorated based on the schedule below. No refund is made for official withdrawals after 60 percent of the enrollment period. No refunds are available for Summer Session withdrawals. If you are withdrawing from all course please visit Leaving UNCW for more information.

Official withdrawal procedures begin in the Dean of Student’s office for Undergraduates and the Graduate School for Graduate Students. No refunds will be issued after October 22; the first 60% of the enrollment period. Room and board refunds are pro-rated differently, if applicable, see Housing and/or Auxiliary Services.

  • August 31 and after: 0% of credit

Fall 2024 AP 2 - First day of class October 21

  • October 21 through October 23 (Add/Drop): 100% of credit
  • October 24 through October 25: 50% of credit
  • October 26 and after: 0% of credit

Spring 2025 AP 3 - First day of class January 13

  • January 13 through January 15 (Add/Drop): 100% of credit
  • January 16 through January 17: 50% of credit
  • January 18 and after: 0% of credit

Spring 2025 AP 4 - First day of class March 10

  • March 10 through March 12 (Add/Drop): 100% of credit
  • March 13 through March 14: 50% of credit
  • March 15 and after: 0% of credit

Summer 2025 AP 5 - First day of class May 12

  • May 12 through May 14 (Add/Drop): 100% of credit
  • May 15 through May 16: 50% of credit
  • May 17 and after: 0% of credit

Summer 2025 AP 6 - First day of class June 30

  • June 30 through July 2 (Add/Drop): 100% of credit
  • July 3 through July 4: 50% of credit
  • July 5 and after: 0% of credit
