The Rental & Resource Center is your hub for outdoor recreation equipment, and planning resources. For convenience, we have a drive-up entrance for pick-up & drop off, located on Price Drive next to the retention pond (Facing the Shore Dining Hall). Click here for a specific link for directions.
The LSRC has three all-gender restrooms available for patrons use. One restroom is located in between the men’s and women’s general locker rooms and the other two restrooms are located in the corridor leading to the indoor pool.
The Aquatics Facility includes an Indoor Pool, an Outdoor Pool, and Patio Deck. The Indoor Pool is an 8-lane, 25 yard multi-functional facility which can offer a wide variety of aquatic exercise and recreational activities. The Outdoor Pool is a seasonal facility (April through September) that is in the shape of the Seahawk logo. It is a leisure pool equipped with built in benches and bubble jets. Included on the patio is plenty of furniture for lounging, ideal for a quick break between classes! Kickboards, pull buoys, life jackets, and water basketball can be made available to patrons.
A variety of games and a series of physical elements make up the Challenge Course. These elements serve as building blocks, which facilitate groups to a higher level of development. The Challenge Course stretches participants mentally and physically, but at a level of comfort that is acceptable to individuals and the group.
The High Ropes course is a structure that stands around 35 feet tall, with 12 bridge-like elements, giant swing, zipline, flying squirrel, high-5, fidget ladder, and ground school. A select combination of these elements and activities make up a typical program.
The Low Ropes course can utilize a variety of the 12 element structures and spaces that are available, in combination with custom selected games and initiative activities. All activities are planned by your facilitators to fit the goals and expectations provided by the participant group leader.
The LSRC climbing wall stands approximately 28 feet high and provides over 1900 square feet of textured climbing surface. The wall has set routes that range in difficulty from easy to difficult. The climbing area also has padded flooring for a softer landing zone.
Located in the Fitness Suite is a state of the art exercise testing lab and home to our Personal Training services. Fitness Assessment equipment includes a body weight composition testing, Functional Movement Screens, and much more.
The Fitness Center includes almost 15,000 square feet of cardio and strength equipment. There are various pieces of cardio equipment and almost 6,500 square feet of free weight strength equipment for members to utilize. The strength line includes selectorized, plate loaded, free weights, and power rack lifting platforms. Cardio equipment consists primarily of Precore, Matrix, Espresso Bikes, Concept2 Rowers, and Woodway Treadmills.
There are three group fitness studios in the LSRC. One is a dedicated indoor cycling studio with 21 Keiser M3+ bikes with SPD clips. Nationally certified instructors create a safe, effective, and fun exercise environment. Classes are designed to accommodate all fitness levels. Group Fitness Classes are scheduled throughout the day and feature an array of popular workout formats. From Core to Zumba and everything in between, there is a class that will satisfy anyone's taste!
The Mind / Body Studio, Room 129, is a small studio stocked with yoga mats, blocks, straps, blankets, Pilates rings and more. Featuring two large bean bags, string lights, mirrors and hanging plants, this studio provides a space for patrons to relax, mediate, practice yoga, or even dance.
The Harris Teeter Functional Training Area provides 3,600 square feet of space to utilize various pieces of fitness equipment to get a total body workout. Functional training is meant to develop the body to perform better through activities that occur in daily life. Featured equipment in the Harris Teeter Functional Training Area include: Freemotion, Queenax, ViPR, and a selection of free weights. Small Group Training classes also take place in this area.
The three-lane track provides a temperature-controlled environment for participants to utilize year round. The indoor track is located upstairs and is available during all facility hours. Distance: 9 times around the center lane = 1 mile.
Lockers are located in both men’s and women’s general and pool locker rooms and there is a set located in corridor leading to the pool.

The multipurpose courts are used for a variety of activities. The four courts can be set up for basketball, volleyball, pickleball or badminton. Basketball play is on a first come first serve basis.
The MAC Gym is used for a variety of activities. The two court area can be set up for basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, or team handball.
The LSRC contains 2 full glass front regulation sized racquetball courts. A racquetball court is reservable by calling the Member Services Desk at 910.962.3261. Please note that of the two courts available, only one is reservable - leaving one for walk in use. Members may reserve a court for one hour per day and may do so 24 hours in advance and up to 1 hour prior to play.
The Recreational Fields are located behind Hanover gym adjacent to the athletic soccer, softball and baseball fields.
The Shoreline Sports Complex is located between the Pat Leonard Student Recreation Center and Terrapin/Pelican Hall.
The following activity areas; tennis/pickleball, sand volleyball, basketball have a optional self use light on button that may be used until 11pm (during academic year). The button is on the white pvc pole adjacent to volleyball and basketball and on a light pole near tennis entrance (closest to Terrapin Hall). The lights will automatically turn off after 30min with a 5min warning light that flashes.

Two table tennis tables and a foosball table are located up on the mezzanine. This area also includes a few high top tables and chairs to relax and socialize between games. Paddles and table tennis balls are available to check out at the Lobby Desk for free. Foosballs are available at the table.
The UNCW Disc Golf Course was designed with both beginner and intermediate players in mind. The course is 9 holes, equipped with a main and short tee pad to create an 18 hole experience. Each 9 hole course is a par 29 and has a mix of both par 3’s and par 4’s. This ensures that players of varying skill levels can enjoy a fun and challenging game. The course is open to the community and will operate from dawn to dusk.
Our course includes several unique features to enhance your playing experience. You'll encounter a raised basket, a hanging basket, and a stacked basket, each providing a different challenge and adding to the excitement of your game. The course has a port-a-potty on site. The layout is thoughtfully designed to help new players learn the game while offering enough complexity to keep more experienced players engaged. Set in the wooded location adjacent to the Greene Track, the course allows you to enjoy the beauty of nature, making it an excellent choice for a recreational outing.
For UNCW Students, Staff, and Faculty discs will be available for check out at the Pat Leonard Student Recreation Center and the Pavilion at the Shoreline Sports Complex at no cost. Please check our hours of operation for availability. UNCW Students, Staff, and Faculty may park according to your campus permit. Visitors may utilize either the pay to park available at the Hamilton Lot (Corner of Hamilton and Hurst) or for free in the visitor lot located at corner of Price and Riegel.
