ACE your UNCW experience and join PIT CREW! ACE's Programmers in Training, also known as PIT Crew, is an experience made for students who want to support the high-energy and creative events that ACE plans throughout the academic year. PIT Crew is your opportunity to improve skills in event planning, marketing, and collaboration - and have fun while doing it!  Whether it is activities, concerts, films, or spirit events - we have it all, and we want YOU to be a part of it.
PIT Crew applications for Fall 2025 are open NOW! UNCW students can apply via WaveLink through August 29, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. All applicants will be notified of their acceptance by Tuesday, September 2nd. For questions about PIT Crew and overall membership of ACE, contact us at ace@uncw.edu.

The ACE Partnership Program (APP) provides assistance to other Registered Student Organizations on event planning to further meet the needs and interest of the UNCW student body. UNCW Registered Student Organizations can complete the Partnership Program request.

General criteria for the ACE Partnership Requests include: 

  • Requests must be a UNCW Registered Student Organization. 
  • A partnership in this case is defined as two organizations each working together to accomplish a common goal. In order for a partnership to exist, both sides must put in work and there must be a there must be a clear goal of the partnership.
  • There must be a clear benefit to UNCW as a whole in the partnership. Events need to serve the student body. If education is requested, the organization must have a clear benefit to the UNCW campus.
  • Your request must be for an actual partnership and not just a program request. If you wish to request a program, please fill out ACE's "Event or Program Suggestion Form" on Wavelink.
  • All partnership events must be open and free for UNCW students to attend.

  • Activities

    The Activities Committee coordinates artistic, comedic, novelty, and recreational activities - there is truly no limit to the vision of what ACE ACTIVITIES can bring to our campus! The Director of Activities and the ACTIVITIES PIT CREW support the planning of events such as:

    • Signature events such as FALL FEST.
    • Arts events such as decorskate and crafternoons. 
    • The famous STUFF-A-SAMMY events - get a limited edition stuffed Sammy.

  • The Concerts Committee coordinates diverse musical entertainment performances and showcases that bring student, local, and nationally known artists to the UNCW campus. The Director of Concerts and the CONCERTS PIT CREW support the planning of events such as:

    • Battle of the Bands, a Homecoming tradition bringing together student and local-bands in a audience-styled voting competition for Band of the Year. 
    • BIG SHOW, the annual fall or spring concert that has brought past performers such as Natasha Bedingfield, Neon Trees, B.O.B., COIN!, Jesse McCartney, T Pain, and more. 
    • Concerts on the Commons, monthly performances in the Campus Commons Amphitheater.

  • The Films Committee coordinates pop-culture experiences and appreciation of cinema through events and regular showings of premiere and classic films on the UNCW campus. The Director of Films and the FILMS PIT CREW support the planning of events such as:

    • Free film screenings in Lumina Theater, the on-campus movie theater located in the Fisher Student Center, and outdoor screenings throughout campus for special events.
    • HAWK-IN, the annually themed movie marathon with activities as students compete for who can attend the full 12-hours series of films.

  • The Spirit Committee coordinates social and celebratory occasions that enhance school spirit at UNCW. The Director of Spirit and the SPIRIT PIT CREW strategize creative ways to have the campus community BREATHE, FEEL, and BE TEAL through:

    • Teal Tuesday Series, a monthly series of events on the first Tuesday of each month with new promotional item giveaways, activities, and appreciation of all that is teal.
    • FESTAPALOOZA (Last Day of Class Celebration)
    • Outreach and initiatives to elevate campus spirit through Homecoming, athletics, and more.
