Thank you for your interest in becoming a Conference Assistant for UNCW Housing & Residence Life. UNCW Housing & Residence Life employs a staff of 18 to 24 Summer Conference Assistants.
Conference Assistants (CAs) provide support to summer residential camps, conferences, short- & long-term stays, and intern housing during the months of May – July. Additionally, CAs assist with the summer operations, departmental events and initiatives and residential facility support for HRL.

Because of the demanding nature of the Conference Assistant position, the Office of Housing and Residence Life places the following stipulations on those hired as Conference Assistants:
All significant time commitments, including but not limited to: class registration, extended travel / time away requests, internships / practicum, and or research require prior advanced approval from Conference Coordinator(s) and the Assistant Director of Residence Life- Summer Operations and Administration. CAs are permitted to enroll only in online or asynchronous courses during summer session I and II. If enrolled in summer courses, CAs must provide proof of registration by Friday, April 25th, 2025.
CAs are required to work a minimum of 24 hours per week and may not have outside employment. CAs can expect to work daily primarily between the hours of 10am – 6pm, with occasional morning and evening assignments. NOTE: hours may be adjusted depending on group accommodation.
Conference Assistants will be provided the following compensation and benefits for the summer 2025 conference season:

UNCW residence halls allow all students the opportunity to become actively involved in campus life. UNCW Housing and Residence Life provides a variety of programs and activities in and around the residence halls to enhance students' total educational experience. All of the residence halls are accessible in that they have elevators and adapted restrooms.
Further, entrances to all buildings are either ramp-accessible or located on the ground floor. The first floor of each residence hall has all the services that are available on higher-level floors to allow students with disabilities equal access to services. University Suites has some first-floor units that have been designed to accommodate students with disabilities.
