National Residence Hall Honorary

In 1964, the National Association of College and University Residence Halls, Inc. (NACURH) created the National Residence Hall Honorary with the primary focus of recognizing leaders within residence halls. As promoted by the NRHH national website, "A leadership-based honorary comprised of exemplary residential students who value recognition and service."

Currently, NRHH thrives on over 200 NACURH affiliated college campuses in the form of student-lead chapters. Each chapter of student leader's values: Leadership, Recognition, and Service. The organization has been successful because of our commitment to enrich on-campus student living through resource sharing, programming and leadership development opportunities to contribute and support the vision of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls, Incorporated.

The National Residence Hall Honorary is an organization that encourages students, members or not, to promote their four pillars: Leadership, Recognition, Scholastic and Service. NRHH is a closed organization, but we encourage non-members to get involved through our service projects and programs!

At the end of every semester NRHH members and representatives from Housing nominate new students and invite them to become a part of the top 1% of students who live on campus. We encourage you to look reach out to NRHH members if you are interested and apply if you have been nominated!

All members of National Residence Hall Honorary are leaders across campus. They hold positions such as resident assistants, Residence Hall Association (RHA) Executive Board members, area council executive board members, orientation leaders, and many more.

Serve

As an organization, NRHH puts value on serving the community. Throughout the year we host a variety of service projects ranging from helping the homeless in many ways, supporting off-campus non-profits such as Miracle League, working with the Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity, and support many on-campus initiatives.

Recognize

A very important part of NRHH is the recognition of others. Through the submission of, Of the Month (OTM's) awards, NRHH is able to recognize the strong individuals and programs on UNC Wilmington's campus. Each month members and campus residents are able to submit OTMs in a variety of categories. One can submit an OTM for their RA, a special program, a friend who did something kind or a staff/faculty member who makes our campus so amazing. NRHH constantly reminds residents of the power of recognition and the importance of random acts of kindness.
