Access & Keys
Since CHHS staff and faculty members use multiple buildings on campus, it is essential to ensure you have the appropriate physical and digital access to space. Details about keys and one card/pin access are provided below.
Key Request: Please complete the Key Request Form to ensure we receive all of the necessary information to best assist with getting keys.
Lost/Stolen Key: If your keys are lost or stolen, you must follow the steps below:
- Report the keys stolen to the UNCW Police Department by calling 910-962-2222. They will provide you a physical copy of a Computer Aid Dispatch (CAD) report.
- Fill out a Lost Key Form, attach the CAD report, obtain department head approval and then send it via email to BCST@uncw.edu. Please do not send to the locksmith shop as we have to attach other files to get you a new key.
- Fill out the Key Request Form so we can request new keys for you with all previous files.
One Card & Pin Access:
How do I set up my one card for access? We have several access levels available. Please complete the One Card Access Form so that we receive all the necessary information to ensure that you are added to the correct one.
How do I get a personal pin code for access? Once your access has been assigned via the OneCard Access Form, you may request a personal PIN code. Please note that PIN codes will not work on all card readers, as some are configured for card access only. PIN codes are personal and must not be shared with others. Sharing your PIN may result in the individual associated with the PIN being held responsible for any potential misuse.
If you would like to request a PIN, please follow the steps below:
- Email accessmgmt@uncw.edu and provide three different 6-digit number combinations. Access Management will then respond back by email with the selected PIN code.
- Note: Within each pin, you cannot have any duplicating or consecutive digits. Examples of inappropriate codes: 123456, 125338, 122289, etc.
How do I access the building/classroom during work hours and after hours? (Veterans Hall, McNeill Hall, Trask Coliseum & Hanover Hall)
- Is it urgent/immediate? If you have a reservation, you are welcome to contact UPD at 910-962-2222 to be let into the space. Please note that they may ask you to provide a UNCW ID and a reservation confirmation of space usage.
- Are you an employee? We have several access levels available. Please complete the One Card Access Form so that we receive all the necessary information to ensure that you are added to the correct ones.
- Are you a student or club? Please email bcst@uncw.edu so we can process your request or ensure the room is unlocked at the time of your arrival.
