Transcripts
Follow these instructions to order your paper or electronic official transcripts. The steps include payment and checking the status of your transcript requests from the Registrar's office.
FOR UPCOMING GRADUATES
1. Check that all grades are posted first
If you are graduating, you should verify that all your final course grades have been officially posted before ordering your transcript. You can do this by:
- Reviewing your unofficial transcript in mySeaport
- Checking your Degree Audit
Why this matters:
- An official transcript only shows information that is already posted at the time you place the order.
- If grades are still missing, your transcript will be incomplete.
2. Ordering too early means paying twice
If you order your transcript before all grades are posted:
- The transcript you receive will not include those grades
- You will need to place another separate transcript order (and typically pay again) to get a corrected version
In short: ordering early can cost you extra time and money.
3. You can request a delayed transcript instead
To help avoid this problem, the university allows you to delay the processing of your transcript until key academic updates are complete.
You can choose to have your transcript sent after:
- Final grades are posted
- Usually about 2 weeks after the term ends
- Your degree is officially posted
- Usually about 2 months after the term ends
This ensures the transcript:
- Includes all final grades
- Shows your degree awarded, which is often required by employers, graduate schools, or licensing agencies
