Job Requirements:

  • MUST meet all 5 (five) criteria in order to qualify
    • Enrolled undergraduate student of UNCW
    • Minimum of one completed semester at UNCW prior to application
    • In good conduct standing at time of application review, contract start date, and during employment
    • Minimum 2.5 cumulative and term GPA
    • Valid Driver's License


Our student employees are an essential part of the day-to-day operations of the Housing Office. As the main point of contact and typically the first face or voice of the company for on-campus students and families, FDOAs are responsible for providing accurate information to callers and in person customers regarding on campus housing and UNCW campus resources. Pay Rate: $10.00 per hour 

Employment Period: Academic year (some breaks required) and Summer if possible

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm w/ occasional weekend shift opportunities 

Hours: Range from minimum of 8 hours up to 20 hours a week based on need and availability 


  • Co-worker shadowing for the first two weeks
  • 1-2 Half Day Team Training prior to each semester
  • Bi-weekly training after 5pm throughout the year 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer multi-line phone calls and in person questions regarding on campus housing and residence life
  • Engage with students and families in a friendly and professional manner while actively listening to their concerns
  • Identify customer needs and provide personalized service to ensure positive and meaningful outcomes
  • Provide up-to-date information regarding on campus housing and campus resources
  • Coordinate with cross-functional departments to obtain and provide necessary information to resolve issues
  • Research student information using in-house technological systems
  • Participate in a team centered environment to accomplish duties and achieve departmental goals in an effective manner
  • Assist the Front Desk Office Receptionist and other HRL Professional Staff members with daily administrative tasks, which can include, but are not limited to; 
    • Creating, editing, copying, and scanning documents
    • Compiling data into spreadsheets
    • Writing and sending emails
    • Filing and sorting paperwork
    • Sorting mail/packages
  • May work Freshman Orientation/Seahawk Saturday/Move-In Day/Seahawk Preview Day 

Interview Process:

If offered an interview, each candidate will undergo a Zoom interview with Professional staff and the FDOA Team. Further interviews may be scheduled if necessary. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis; Therefore, interviews may be scheduled prior to closing date.
