Entrepreneurship is about solving a problem—about easing your customer's pain. Petrics, the pet healthcare company making IoT products and making waves in small business news lately, does it by making life easier for pet owners and healthier for pets. For its founder, Ed Hall, the path to startup stardom began with his mother. With three cats and a dog, Hall's mother found it impossible to keep track of which pets needed which foods in what amounts.

Chancellor's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Now Open
The Chancellor’s High School Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition of 2018 is an amazing opportunity for high school thinkers, dreamers, and innovators to explore their inner entrepreneurial spirit. This is a high school “lean” business competition for Southeast North Carolina, covering 18 counties and 50 high schools. Registration is open as of February 1st. Contestants will complete a preliminary presentation March 1st and semifinalists will move on to present at the CIE on April 21st.
