Click here to see the standardized testing requirement for UNCW and UNC System institutions.
For students applying for Fall 2025 or Spring 2026: students with a weighted high school GPA greater than or equal to 2.50 and less than 2.80 are required to submit a standardized test score (ACT or SAT).
For students applying for Fall 2026 and beyond: students with a weighted high school GPA greater than or equal to 2.50 and less than 2.80 are required to submit a standardized test score of a 17 or higher on the ACT or a 930 or higher on the SAT.
If you have SAT and/or ACT scores that you feel are reflective of your academic ability, you can choose to submit them with your application. If you do not have any scores or choose not to submit them, your application will not be negatively impacted.
Students who do not submit an ACT or SAT score must meet the minimum weighted GPA requirement of 2.5 to be considered for undergraduate admission.
If you choose to send scores, UNCW will consider either the SAT or ACT, or both if both are provided.
SAT II Subject Tests and AP or IB scores are not considered in admission decisions at UNCW.
