Testing Policy
Students with a weighted high school GPA below 2.80 (on a 4.0 scale) are required to submit either an ACT score of 17 or higher or an SAT score of 930 or higher.
Students with a weighted GPA of 2.8 or above (on a 4.0 scale) have the option to submit standardized test scores if you feel they are reflective of your academic ability. UNCW will consider either the SAT or ACT, or both if both are provided. If you do not have any scores or choose not to submit them, your application will not be negatively impacted.
Test scores can be self-reported on the application or sent in unofficially to our office. If you are admitted to UNCW, and choose to enroll, we will require that your official scores be sent directly from the testing service.
SAT II Subject Tests and AP or IB scores are not considered in admission decisions at UNCW.
