College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts (CHSSA)
The advising processes in CHSSA vary by department. An advisor will send you an email to your UNCW address at least a week before your registration date. This email will let you know about your department’s process for transfer orientation advising. Some departments will reach out earlier, so it is important that you begin checking your UNCW email at least a couple of times a week. Many of our advisors are faculty, so while they are preparing for your orientation, they are also preparing for final exams and wrapping up their grading for the current semester. Please be conscious of their time and respond promptly to our emails. Pay close attention to the deadlines in the departmental communications so that you do not lose your ability to register early.
While you wait to be contacted, you can:
If you have not heard from your department by November 28, please contact Dr. Maggie Bannon (bannonm@uncw.edu), the Director of Academic Advising for the College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts.
