  • Step 1: Register for Orientation

    Register for Orientation

    Spring Transfer Orientation registration will open on October 15, 2025 at 10 a.m.

    To register, follow these instructions:

    • Log-in to your UNCW Applicant Portal
    • Find and select the item on your enrollment checklist that requires you to register for orientation.
    • Select the event you would like to attend and fill out the registration form. There is a section labeled “My Guest” (for in-person orientation only) where you can add guest information, if guests are attending with you. Please note there will be a separate payment activity added to your enrollment checklist for your guest fees.

    Once the registration form is completed and payment activity submitted, students and registered guests will receive a payment confirmation e-mail.

  • Complete Your Modules

    Online Orientation Modules

    Completion Deadline: December 4

    Before registering for classes, you will need to complete the online orientation modules in your enrollment checklist within the applicant status portal. These modules are designed to help you get familiar with academic requirements and campus resources, and you can work through them at your own pace. Plan to set aside about an hour to complete them.

    Students who have not finished the modules by December 4 will have a registration hold placed on their account and will not be able to register for classes until their modules are complete.

    U Got This! Violence Prevention

    Completion Deadline: January 12

    All students are required to complete the U Got This! Violence Prevention modules before the first day of classes. 

    U Got This! is an interactive, video-based program that engages students in conversations around sexual violence, dating violence, stalking, and harassment. Students can access the U Got This! Violence Prevention modules on a computer or mobile device. their Orientation Task List after registering for orientation. U Got This! will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. 

    Contact care@uncw.edu to request an exemption from the program.

  • Transfer Advising and Course Registration

    Spring Transfer course registration will open on December 4, 2025 at 10 a.m.

    Advising is an important part of your onboarding at UNCW. No matter what school or college your major belongs to, you should:

    • Keep an eye on your UNCW email and be ready to respond to outreach from your advisor.
    • Review the transfer equivalencies website.
    • Familiarize yourself with DegreeWorks in MySeaport and review your degree audit. Information on how to run a degree audit can be found HERE.
    • Get to know the requirements for your major. The academic course catalogue can be found HERE.
    • Familiarize yourself with the Starfish success network.
    Please note that the University will be closed for the winter break December 24 through January 5.
  • In-Person Orientation

    In-person orientation is a full-day experience that includes presentations on campus resources and support services, campus tours, and opportunities to meet other students.

    If you do not register for orientation by the posted deadline, you will not be able to begin courses. No exceptions will be made after a deadline has passed. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Admissions.

    Be sure to check your UNCW email regularly for additional orientation information. Official university communication will always be sent to your UNCW email account. 

EMPLOYEE FEE WAIVER

UNCW employees should check with Human Resources about special benefits for faculty, staff, and their dependents prior to submitting an orientation reservation for you or your student.

UNCW faculty, staff, and their dependents may be eligible to have the orientation fee waived.
