- Educational Learning Community
The Education Learning Community (ELC) provides first-year education majors a community that supports academic, social, and educational development.
Students in the ELC will attend seminars together, connect with Watson faculty and staff, and engage with the WCE Student Success Center prior to being admitted into the Watson College of Education. They will engage in various activities on and off campus exploring cultural diversity, educational growth, and establishing lifelong friendships. Many of the student leaders in our Watson Student Organization were in the ELC as they connected early with college resources.
*There is no additional cost associated with the Watson College of Education Learning Community beyond the standard room and board rates.
ELC Provides Students With
- Assistance with the transition to college life
- Individual support and attention with access to Education Faculty and Staff
- A collaborative culture
- Educational field experiences during freshman year in local area schools
